People are selfish

All of us have heard of office politics since young. And adults always tell us kids that it’s good tt we’re studying, cos the working world is a complicated and scheming one. Even Hong Kong drama serials tell us that. How a person who was originally kindhearted became a cunning and shrewd businessman. Ever since then, I have the mentality that circumstances shape our character. Because of the competitive business world, people have to learn to be crafty backstab blah blah in order to survive. Human beings seem to be victims of the world that they have no control over.

Recently, my perceptions have started to change. A few incidents made me realize that hey, it seems that human beings are the one who shape circumstances; they are the ones who cause office politics. But I know that human beings are not born selfish, we are all born with a kind nature, tt’s why kids are all kind natured, of cos there’re exceptions too la. Then as we grow older, we seem to want things our way. We don’t explicitly show this side of us, but upon close observation, it can be seen. I don’t know what examples to give lar, because these are daily observations from the people around me. Everyone thinks for themselves first, when we do sth, we know that it might put another person in a difficult position, but we jus brush away our thoughts with an “I don’t care” attitude.

I don’t know lar, maybe I haven’t grow up yet.
