English Lesson (2)

Good afternoon class,
Today we are going to learn about simple present tense and present continuous tense. Let’s begin the lesson with 2 examples.

1) Yingying is eating her noodles.
2) Yingying eats her noodles.

As you will already know, 1) is present continuous tense and 2) is simple present tense. When do we use which?

For present continuous tense, we use it to describe actions or events that are happening now. In the office, when you see the printer printing out paper, you should say “The printer is printing now.” instead of “The printer prints!”

For simple present tense, we do not use it jus because an event/action is happening in the present. It is being used for 4 reasons:
a) sth that happens everyday: She eats her breakfast every morning
b) a habit
c) cannot rem
d) cannot rem

Useful lesson right? Another meaningful day for you. All thanks to me, all of you can proudly say that “I live my life to the fullest. I learn something new everyday.”
